What’s the real meaning of “Shoheed”(in islam)?….and who can call be as “Shoheed” ?
Its a good attemp to unite those Jamiyas and Qawmy Madrasas around the world and I think its a good way to increase the publicity of this website.
@ Anas : Shahid is of two types.
1. Shahid of both dunya and akhirah : This is attributed to someone who is a matured muslim and has been killed by Ahlul Harb (Non Muslim in non muslim country) in the field of war, or by aggressor, or is found dead in the field of war and has sign of blood in his body (which indicates that he has been killed in the field). Or is killed wrongly by a Muslim or Zimmi (Non muslim in a muslim country) using a sharp instrument (i.e. knife), where no diyyat was wajib for his murder. Or is dead accidently.
2. Shahid of Akhirah only : They are many. i.e. Drowned, burnt or killed when seeking knowledge of wahi.
